(Toronto,ON)- The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) has officially embarked on their Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) program, which aims to establish an innovative foundation for players and coaches for years to come.
This new coaching curriculum, developed by the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA), focuses on nurturing the development of the player- by engaging, teaching and training each individual youngster to their particular needs.The program’s vision entails a ‘player-centred’ approach by providing players with the necessary man-management skills they require.
Special General Meeting

The Toronto Soccer Association is holding a Special General Meeting on Tuesday, January 24th at 7:30 p.m at the TSA office to discuss the 2012 Budget.
The meeting is for Club Presidents. If the President cannot attend, then please send a Club Representative in place of the President.

Hello Friends of Soccer and Futsal,
On behalf of Futsal Canada and the Toronto Futsal League I would like to extend a warm invitation to you and your friends to come and attend the launch of the Canadian Premier Futsal League (CPFL) on Saturday, January 14th at Seneca College Newham Campus in Toronto for an exciting double-header starting at 6:30pm and 8pm.
The CPFL features the absolute best futsal competition in Canada and will include top futsal specific clubs, featuring many players that have and continue to represent the Canadian National Futsal Team. Parking and admission is absolutely free, so come out and bring a few friends or the family to enjoy a couple of hours of fantastic sports entertainment.
Seneca College Newnham Campus is located at 1750 Finch Avenue East which is a mere 2 minutes north of Highway 401 and is right off the 404/DVP. Parking is free in Lot 5 and there will be refreshments available as well. Please spread the word and feel free to bring whomever you'd like. If you have never seen Futsal played before, it is an incredible sport that is FIFA's only official version of indoor soccer. It has its own FIFA World Cup, UEFA and CONCACAF Championships, and will be a gold-medal sport at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. This CPFL will serve to enrich Canada's top talent for those world class events.

One of the ladies (Robyn Gmeindl) in our OSA office has submitted a Mascot for the 2012 Ontario Summer Games and her mascot has been short-listed to the final three mascot candidates.
Bruce the Moose has made his web debut for the 2012 Ontario Summer Game Mascot Competition. To vote for him, please go to http://www.ontariosummergames.ca/ and LIKE him on Facebook! If you don't have Facebook, get your friends and loved ones to LIKE him.
The mascot with the most likes wins the contest. And remember, Bruce was designed by Robyn Gmeindl in the OSA office, but named by OSA staff members! Let's LIKE him all the way to a win!

CPFL now a member of TSA

The CPFL (Canadian Premier Futsal League) is now a member of the Toronto Soccer Association!
This newly formed league is Level 7.
For more information about this league and the teams that will be participating, please go to the following link: http://www.futsalcanada.ca/index.php/cpfl.
As per the OSA Rules, each team will need to register with its own district association and request permission to play out of district.

Lynx Search for PDL, W League & U20 Elite Players
The Toronto Lynx Soccer Club announced today, the details of their OPEN TRYOUTS for PDL, W League and both Super 20 teams for the 2012 Season. Doors will be open during the upcoming holidays and interested players are invited to apply for an open tryout alongside the returning NCAA and Canadian University players, in an effort to compliment and strengthen all Lynx teams for the upcoming USL season.
Interested players should apply online at www.torontolynxsoccerclub.com where full details are provided on the home page under the "OPEN TRY OUT" registration heading, for the sessions being presented on Wednesday December 28th, at the Wild Water Kingdom Soccer Dome facility located at HWY 427 and Finch Ave.
The Lynx search is on once again, for quality players from around the GTA that have the ambition of playing at the very highest level. All Toronto Lynx teams will once again compete in the United Soccer Leagues during the summer of 2012 and we look forward to identifying more quality players for another exciting season ahead.
